When Richard and I took over The Village Store in the pretty village of Mannings Heath in 1998 we committed to bringing back good traditional values and service of the independent grocery store. We wanted our community to feel that it was their store, a place where they would be as welcome to pop in for the morning paper and a chat as picking up their weekly shop.
In addition we wanted to create a store packed with interesting and delicious foods some of which are not available in the supermarkets and made a point of sourcing from local suppliers wherever possible.
We’re passionate about our fresh produce and today our store is brimming with hand-selected fruit & vegetables as well as providing all the daily essentials. Pop in for fresh bread baked on the premises, quality meats from our award winning butchers, delicious cheeses, local ales, fresh flowers and so much more. If you can’t get to us we’re happy to run local deliveries to your door.
Oh and we also serve tea, coffee, light refreshments and snacks from our small but perfectly formed kitchen counter and have seating outside so you can watch the world go by.
We hope to see you soon.
